Summer Style | Feet Friendly Sandals

Hi guys, so as we head into summer (yay!), isn’t it fab to know we can parade our fresh pedi’s in sandals again? We all love a pretty pair of sandals to add to our summer wardrobe, but I have to admit, some out there might look good but definitely skip on the comfort factor. Well not with these, as not only are they stylish and sit with current trends, but their design technology make them feet friendly too!

I am a huge fan of Vionic footwear, owning some of their pumps, boots, sandals and trainers. As an ambassador for the brand, I am sometimes gifted pairs. Although, I also choose to buy their footwear as they look fab, whilst helping issues with my feet. The range not only provide function, by way of helping any foot/knee/lower back pain, but their array of styles are always in keeping with fashion and trends.

Check out my collection here.

This black pair was fab to wear on a trip to the coast recently, we did a fair bit of walking one lovely balmy evening, then sat by the beach and had some chips (well it was cheat day). These not only kept my feet cool, but were supported and comfortable, and looked stylish too.

I chose the white to team with my outfit below (yes, a skirt!!), ready to set off to friends. They were comfy whilst standing around chatting, and white always looks fresh for summer, so I was happy to get a few compliments on them.

Vionic Rio Sandals – £60

These stylish summer sandals have a slight platform feel, with snake effect leather straps, and are also available in Tan, with a ‘cork’ effect strap. These have a large buckle detail on the top strap, although these are adjustable by way of velcro fastening, making it super easy plus helpful if feet become hot and swollen.

  • Upper: Natural Cork or Man-Made.
  • Footbed: EVA.
  • Outsole: Durable Rubber.
  • Heel Height: 1.9 inch.

The rubber soles are so comfortable under foot, and have a curved footbed which supports the arch of the foot. So, if like me you have Plantar Fasciitis and a tendency to over-pronate, then the FMT Technology can provide relief. These sandals are supportive and help realign feet in a natural position. I think they are ideal for summer, the black being fab for evenings out adding a bit of glam to an outfit.

The sandals are a medium width and fit me perfectly, but would be ideal for wider feet, due to the heavy duty velcro straps on the front for easy adjustment. Also, the top strap at the base of the ankle with its decorative buckle, has a piece of hidden elastic that allows ease of movement when walking.

The raised arch allows the foot to be supported comfortably, plus the insole has a cushioned feel when walking thanks to the EVA outer sole, which also has good grip. These might be orthotic based footwear, but the whole range offers fab style!

When new, for the best comfort Vionic recommend wearing only for a few hours initially, then building up, allowing feet to adjust to the new level of orthotic comfort and support. After a couple of weeks, the insoles will have moulded to your feet, and will feel super comfy.

Both of these are great teamed with jeans and casual outfits, which for me is a bonus as that is my style. Although the white would look great worn with a pretty dress or, smart linen suit for a wedding. The black look awesome with a maxi dress or palazzo trousers, so they are ideal for a summer/holiday nights out. Even with their slight platform, these are lightweight, which is great for feet and for packing!

This snake print sparkles in the sun adding a bit of glam, whilst the technology under foot helps support.   These are not only comfortable sandals, but in keeping with summer trends, plus the platform is an added bonus providing a little extra height.

Vionic are always going forward to bring on trend, comfortable and stylish footwear, and this season, they have some fab styles to add to any summer wardrobe. Just remember, with Vionic, style doesn’t have to hurt!
