Lavera Hydrating Revitalising Face Mask ~ £2-90 for 10ml

Ideal for dry, dull skins that need some love, this thick creamy Wild Rose mask will restore skins moisture and vitality. I recently applied this leaving on the skin for 20 minutes, while enjoying a soak in the bath. The scent is really subtle, and the natural ingredients left my skin soft and bright, plus my redness form broken capillaries seemed calmed. Their face masks won’t make a dent in your purse, and are easy to use as regular skin treats.

Above ~ you only need a grain of rice size (as with most eye products). I tend to apply to ring finger tips and gently pat around the eye area.

Below ~ the result is a beautiful light reflecting gentle shimmer (no glittery effect), plus boosting hydration to the delicate skin around the eye.

I’m using this everyday to improve and plump any delicate fine lines around the eyes. It’s also soothing, gentle and has a lovely brightening effect, especially when signs of tiredness and dark areas are showing.

Lavera Natural Fine Loose Mineral Powder ~ £15-50 for 8gm

This natural, talc-free, translucent powder is super lightweight due to being ultra-fine. It feels weightless, and you only need a few light sweeps over makeup to fix it. It’s ingredients include mica, which gives a subtle glow to the complexion.

Ingredients : Mica, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Germ Powder*, Magnesium Silicate, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, Tricaprylin, Silica, Bismuth Oxychloride (Ci 77163), Iron Oxide (Ci 77491), Iron Oxide (Ci 77492), Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil*, HippopHae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract*, TocopHerol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Camelina Sativa Seed Oil, Vegetable Oil (Olus Oil), Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Alcohol*, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Liquorice) Root Extract*, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Malva Sylvestris (Mallow) Extract*, Rosa Centifolia Flower Extract*, Tilia Cordata Flower Extract, Ascorbyl Pamitate, Silver Oxide, Water (Aqua), Fragrance (Parfum)**, Citral**, Citronellol**, Geraniol**, Limonene**, Linalool**

Above ~ This translucent powder is so super-fine, and comes in a container with tiny holes to release the product. There’s a sticker over the holes to begin with, which peels off allowing you to tip a little powder in the lid, swirl your face brush in and apply.

I’m not a huge powder lover, so if I use one, it has to be good and tick a few boxes. It mustn’t block or irritate my skin, but must provide a good finish, not looking caked or flat, and i don’t want to feel it on my skin. This one definitely ticks those boxes.

Above shot ~ a glowy foundation (Bobbi Brown serum I think) applied to the back of my hand.

Below ~ Lavera fine loose translucent powder applied over the top. It’s taken away the shiny finish, yet allows a visible glow. Skin doesn’t look flat or dull, in fact it doesn’t look like I’ve applied powder. Skin is left looking soft and luminous, and will help makeup to stay put.

Lavera Organic Eyeshadow Shiny Taupe ~ £10-50

I’ve fallen in love with this little shadow ; the texture, the shade, the pay off and durability. The shade I have is 07 Shiny Taupe, a gorgeous subtle shimmer, no glitter, and a suitable shade for any eye colour.  I have crepey lids but this applies smoothly, doesn’t crease and lasts all day. It’s a lovely neutral metallic shade that offers a little bit of glam to a day, or night look.   *See swatch below with liner*

Containing Shea butter and Argan oil mixed with the pigments, it’s nourishing and cares for lids. Being natural, it doesn’t irritate my eyes, even on eye that I’m currently having problems of styes with (I’m having to avoid makeup when poss and being really careful).

Ingredients : Tricaprylin, Magnesium Stearate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Trihydroxystearin, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract*, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Rosa Centifolia Flower Extract*, Tilia Cordata Flower Extract*, Malva Sylvestris (Mallow) Flower Extract*, Camelina Sativa Seed Oil, Vegetable Oil (Olus Oil), Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus Sunflower Seed Oil, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Water (Aqua), Alcohol*, Fragrance (Parfum)**, Limonene**, Geraniol**, Linalool**, Citronellol**, Citral**, Benzyl Benzoate**, [+ /- Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxide (CI 77491), Iron Oxide (CI 77492), Iron Oxide (CI 77499), Silica, Ultramarines (CI 77007)]

Lavera Organic Soft Eyeliner Pencil (Black) ~ £9-50

This is a super gentle liner that applies so easily, and doesn’t pull or drag on the skin. It offers great black pigment and containing organic jojoba oil, plus other organic ingredients, and it’s gentle even on sensitive eyes. Once applied, it has a little play/smudge time, and then lasts for hours. If you have slightly crepey lids and find it hard to use a liner, this is one of those effective yet gentle liners that are must-haves. Plus, the added bonus for sensitive eyes is that it’s natural.

Lavera Lipstick Lip Colour Intense – Matt’n Red ~ £11-90

I’m always a bit worried when I get sent a red, as I don’t get suit many red shades, especially if they’re too blue based. This is a warm red, and applies so smoothly, as I’m finding with all Lavera natural makeup products.

The shade I have is 27 Matt’n Red. Even though this lipstick is classed as a matte finish, it’s emollient and nourishing on the lips due to the ingredients, and doesn’t end up drying the lips out. The pigment is intense so if you love a strong lip, this is gorgeous, and wearable for most skin tones.

Ingredients :

Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil*, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax*, Rhus Verniciflua Peel Wax, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Capsicum Annuum Fruit Extract, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter*, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil*, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil*, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Hippophae Rhamnoides
Fruit Extract*, Malva Sylvestris (Mallow) Flower Extract*, Tilia Cordata Flower Extract*, Rosa Centifolia Flower Extract*, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Alcohol*, Flavor (Aroma), Limonene**, [+/- Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Carmine (CI 75470), Bismuth Oxychloride (CI 77163), Iron Oxide (CI 77491), Silica]

** Lavera currently have 25% off all makeup through January ’17, so why not head over to Lavera UK and fill your boots!**

I really support this natural brand, and the more products I try, the more I’m impressed with, especially the makeup. Applications are so smooth, pigment payoff is good, yet the bonus is that they don’t disappear while you’re wearing, they last. An affordable, safe and effective brand, and I highly recommend trying some bits from the range.

You might also like the Lavera pieces in this post including some male grooming products.

I hadn’t tried much, only a little skincare before, but since last year i’ve tried a few mores bits. Oh the make up is good, and affordable. Some natural brand makeup doesn’t last or perform but these do, and it’s great it’s cruelty free!

    Hi Heidi
    Great review!
I attended an Ecosession on clean beauty in London last night – I’m sure you would have found it interesting – there’s so much about the beauty industry that we just don’t know, particularly around skincare products that are marketed as organic and cruelty free – did you know it’s unregulated – I didn’t :-0 I don’t know much about this brand but they sound interesting and most affordable – I like the sound of the Illuminating Eye Cream – I could do with something to hide my dark circles!

Oh how fab, I’m glad you had an informative evening. Yes, sadly it’s an industry that has many brands that still use testing and some class themselves as ‘natural’, when only a certain amount of the ingredients are. Under the Cosmetics Regulatory system, they aren’t allowed to be misleading though, but being such a vast industry, it does really need to change bringing stricter guidelines.
Lavera is a lovely organic brand, this eye cream really brightens under the eyes, whilst hydrating the skin too. Let me know if you try!
